David A Blaine, age 77, passed away peacefully in his home in Fishers, IN, on February 16, 2022. He was born in Gary, IN, and grew up in Hammond IN.
David graduated Hammond High School in 1962. He proudly received his undergraduate degree then his Doctor on Dental Surgery from Indiana University in 1970. David served 37 years at his dental practice in Northwest Indiana, where he kindly cares for patients and developed lifelong friendships with his staff and colleagues. David was a member of Indiana Dental Association and of the Garfield Masonic Lodge in Highland, IN. Upon retirement, they moved to Fishers, IN, to be close to his daughters and grandsons.
David was married for 56 years to Carol Blaine (Spoljaric), and they enjoyed the simple pleasures of life together. They loved playing cards, entertaining, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Anyone who knew David will remember the great times that were had at the famous Blaine Christmas Eve Party, where he proudly prepares the traditional roasted pig.
David is survived by his wife Carol, daughters Julie (Patrick) Meloy, Gina (Mike) Kornafel, grandsons, Kaden Meloy and Mak Kornafel, and sister Christy (Jerry) Shevchenko. He was proceeded in death by parents, Albert and Ann Blaine, and his sister, Amy (Gregg) Halaburt.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5, from 3 to 5 PM at Indianan Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to your favorite charity.
