Darryl Dwayne Phillips, 59, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Monday, August 14th surrounded by his wife and family. Darryl grew up in Southport, IN where he made many friends throughout his life.
Darryl worked construction, enjoyed building all sorts of handy contraptions, played guitar, and told the best stories with a wicked sense of humor. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to go fishing on White River with his tricked out 1976 MonArk Runabout boat. Darryl will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Darryl was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clara Bell and Charles Briley Sr. He is survived by his wife Teresa Phillips, stepchildren Scott Curry, Racheal Slayback, and Jimmy Slayback, his mother Christine Briley, sisters, Tammy Patterson, Donna Phillips, and Monica Henry, two nieces, nephews, and great nieces.
Darryl requested a celebration of life, thus we request his loved ones and friends to join us in celebrating his adventurous life on Saturday, September 9th from 3 PM to 5:30 PM at One Christian Church, 2578 Donica Rd., Greenwood, IN 46143. Service will begin promptly at 3:30 with dinner following.
