Darryl Dwayne Hampton departed from this world on March 4, 2025, at the age of 62. Darryl was a cherished member of the Majestic Care of Carmel Assisted Living Community and was known for his kindness, humor, and unwavering spirit. He touched the lives of many with his presence, smile and dedication to his family, friends, fellow residents and God. His love, joy, and faith will be remembered for years to come.

Born January 19, 1963, in Springfield, IL, to Ethel (Clark) Haley (deceased), Darryl was adopted and raised by Robert L. Hampton (deceased) who took him to church, taught him to respect elders, and instilled in him love for family and for music. Darryl grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana where his childhood was enriched by the Tabernacle Presbyterian Church football league, Fairview Presbyterian Church VBS program and the Boy Scouts. Darryl attended IPS Schools #86, Shortridge High School where he participated in Freshman football and R.O.T.C. (Reserve Officer Training Corps), and Broad Ripple High School where he participated in Jazz Band and D.E.C.A. (Distributive Education Clubs of America) and graduated in 1982.

Darryl was the beloved husband of Argenia (Hurley) who preceded him in death. He will be deeply missed by his sister Carolyn Hampton, his nephew Robert S. Hampton; nieces Cherron Hampton, Chardee Hampton, and Aubaine Rutland; cousins Cherri Walker and Wynn E. Samuels, Sr., Wynn E. Samuels, Jr., and many other cousins, great nieces and nephews, classmates, friends, fellow residents and clinical staff, and extended family members including siblings Gerald Haley, Marie Haley, Valerie Haley; Ashmed Canders, Joel Canders, Nina Canders, and Michael Canders.

Darryl's joyful spirit and the memories shared will forever live in our hearts. Rest Well, Darryl.
