Darryl Lee Cook, age 78, of Brownsburg, Indiana, passed away on February 24, 2025. He was born on January 24, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and was a graduate of Emmerich Manual High School. Darryl proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman and received a Sharpshooter award during his service.
After his time in the military, Darryl worked at Chrysler as a journeyman and retired after more than 30 years of dedicated service. He will be remembered for his caring nature, always positive attitude, and great sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around him.
Darryl had a passion for many things. He loved fishing and enjoyed the freedom of the open road, always with his beloved Jeep. He was also an avid traveler, with trips to Las Vegas among his favorites. Darryl had a love for fitness and a unique enthusiasm for scratch-off tickets, always trying his luck with a smile.
He is survived by his brother Jim Cook of Astor, Florida as well as many nieces and nephews; his daughter’s, Courtney Summers (Ryan Walker) of Brownsburg, Indiana, Christa Spinks of Speedway, Indiana, Angela (Rick) Holtswarth of Fort Myers, Florida; his Grandchildren, Katelyn (Chris) Armour of Greenwood, Indiana, Logan Eastwood (Storm Prince) of Greenwood, Indiana, Jacob Walker of Plainfield, IN, Gage Spinks of brownsburg, Indiana, Emma Spinks of Plainfield, Indiana, Lyla Cash and Dalton Cash of Morgantown, IN, Cayden Summers of Brownsburg, Indiana; his Great-Grandchildren, Rayden, Jase, Josie, Aubree, Jaxon, Abel, Liam and Maverick.
Darryl is now reunited with his beloved parents, Thomas and Irene Cook; his brothers, Tommy and Ronnie Cook; his sister, Donna Sebastian; his daughter, Sandra Pay.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Indiana Funeral Care, located at 2433 E Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46143.
In memory of Darryl, let us remember the love he gave, the joy he brought, and the laughter he shared with everyone he met. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
