Darrell C. Walton of Indianapolis, IN, passed away at St. Vincents Hospital, Friday, October 22, 2021. He was 77 years old. He was born to Kenneth and Francis Walton of Crawfordsville, IN on January 1, 1944.
Darrell graduated from Crawfordsville HS in 1962. After graduation received an Associate Degree from ITT in 1972. He worked for the Department of Metropolitan Development of the City of Indianapolis as a cartographer for many years retiring in 2001.
He loved gardening, created many CAD images of historic houses in many cities as part of calendars he gave as gifts, enjoyed historic architecture, decorating, traveling, spending time with his loved dog Lady Diana, and taking photos with his tablet. He never met a stranger and always had a joke to share.
Darrell was preceded in death by his father; Kenneth, his mother, Frances; and sisters, Lois Evans, Shirley Ellingwood, Judy Oltman, Carolyn Walton, and brother Ron Walton. He is survived by his husband and companion Jack Morgan, sisters Jean Stamps, Darlene Clark and brother Fred Walton and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He will be dearly missed by many.
Celebration of Life Services will be at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250, on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Visitation will be from 11 am – Noon and the service following at Noon. There will be a private burial ceremony later.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the donor’s favorite charity in Darrell’s name.
