Dan A. Firestine, 73, died Friday, September 17th, 2021 at his home in Indianapolis. Born in Ft. Wayne, he graduated from R Nelson Snider High School in 1967 and went on to obtain a Bachelor’s of Engineering from Purdue University. He was a member of the Ft. Wayne Fire Department for 12 years and was a Navy Veteran. He was a loving father and grandfather and is survived by 3 sons, Adam and Andrew, both of Indiana; Tony, of Colorado; one daughter, Shelly, of North Carolina; and 7 grandchildren. He was a son to father James and mother Beth, and a brother to 5 siblings: brothers Tom, Mark, and James; and sisters Amy and Susan. He was preceded in death by his wife Cheri, mother of Adam, Andrew, and Shelly; and his wife Becky. He was a talented craftsman, engineer, and auto mechanic, and the proprietor of his own remodeling business for several years. Dan’s Christian faith was an essential part of his life and he was an active member of his church. He was always smiling and known for an aptitude for kindness and an ability to always lend a helping hand. Visitation will be held at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN from 2-4pm on Friday 9/24, Service at 4pm.
