Cynthia S. Shepard

Cynthia Sue (Cindy) Shepard, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on November 6, 2024. She was born on July 23, 1946 in Lovell, Wyoming to her parents, Frank and Delores Shepard.

Since Cindy’s father travelled extensively for work, the family moved quite a bit living in Lovell, Wyoming, Peru, Illinois, Indianapolis, Indiana, Ogden Dunes, Indiana, and Mount Prospect, Illinois.

Cindy was an amazing cook and baker. Any time you walked into her house, she could feed an army, and you never left hungry. She crocheted blankets, dish cloths, hats, and scarves, donating lap blankets to local nursing homes. At Christmas, you would find her sharing her delicious treats with firemen, mailmen, neighbors, family, church, and friends. She was generous, loving, and refused to grow up.

Cindy is survived by her sons David (Wyetta) Simmons, Jephrey Slaughter, and Travis Shepard, sister Virginia (Ginny) Reed, grandsons AJ and Bailey Simmons, niece Amy (Tom) Tokash, great nephew Andrew Tokash, great niece Jenna Tokash, and several great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband David King, brother Frank Shepard, and brother-in-law Dennis Reed.

A memorial service for her will be held at Indiana Funeral Care - Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis IN 46250, on Friday, December 6th 2024. We ask that people arrive by 2:30pm for the service beginning at 3pm.
