Costenia Patrick

September 25, 1928 — December 23, 2024

Indianapolis

Costenia (McBride) Patrick, 96, was born to J.B. McBride and Esilna (Moncrief) McBride on September 25, 1928, in Sherman Hill, Mississippi. She fell asleep in death on December 23, 2024. After completing her education, Costenia worked for much of her life as a homemaker and took pride in her family. She raised ten children and enjoyed the many years being able to watch her children and then grandchildren grow.

Costenia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many, who had many joys in life. She was a simple lady, who was always very humble and kind in her ways. However, those close to her knew her strength, and that she could easily hold her own if she needed. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers every spring and summer. She also was known for being an amazing cook, who enjoyed sharing her southern meals and homemade syrup that she would prepare from scratch with others. Her kindness extended to all who knew her, even to the many cats that she made sure had a good meal during their visits. Costenia was beloved by her family and found that her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with them, especially her visits with her children and grandchildren, who will all miss her very much.

She is preceded in death by her parents, J.B. McBride and Esilna McBride; her late husband, Roy Lee Bobbitt; her four sons, Johnny Bobbitt, Willie Ray Patrick, Douglas Patrick, and Bruce Patrick; as well as her thirteen siblings.

Costenia leaves to cherish her memory her children, Emma Mae Evans, Bobby Dale Bobbitt, Ray Charles Patrick, Joe Junior Patrick, Billy Carson Patrick, and Charlie Patrick; several siblings; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Indiana Funeral Care is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.

“Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” John 5:28,29 (New World Translation)
