Cora Lou King, 94, peacefully passed on April 6, 2024. She was born on October 18, 1929 in Stringtown, Iowa to James and Amanda Reynolds.
Cora Lou always had a story, and kept the family circle going with remembrances and life experiences that connected generations - much like the stitches that held together the beautiful quilts she made.
Every family needs a storyteller, sharing around the table at gatherings, by letter, visits, and often by long distance phone calls. How to thank someone for enriching your life and helping you learn more about who you are and where you came from?
Cora and Bill shared a life of adventure and purpose, and built a family life that also provided us with amazing cousins. As we remember her it is with deep admiration and gratitude for a life well lived. She was not only a connection to our past generations, but an inspiration for the future.
Now Cora Lou Reynolds King will continue to be a part of our family stories to come, and will always have a special place in our hearts.
Cora is survived by her son, Paul (Lenora) King; her son in love, David Dean; son-in-law, David Federspill; grandchildren, Jacob King, Jeremy (Maria) Laster, Stephanie (Kenneth) Vass, Rachel (Ryan) Zigler, Daniel (Adam) Federspill, and Lisa Federspill; and her great grandchildren, as well as other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, and her daughter, Janet Federspill.
A private family graveside service will take place on Friday, April 12 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. A celebration of Cora's life will be held at a later date.
