Cora Jean Leigh died unexpectedly but peacefully on January 21, 2020 at the age of 37 at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Cora is survived by her parents, Bruce and Vicki Leigh; her sister, Joanna Couture, and her nieces, Clara and Estelle Rosenbarger.
Cora was born in Springfield, Illinois on July 29, 1982. She worked as a Data Entry/Customer Service Representative at Republic Services in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Cora was a loving, caring daughter and aunt. She was a shining example of what every parent wishes their daughter were. She was loving and compassionate, beautiful and good, honest and principled, determined and independent, sensitive and intelligent. Cora’s passion included caring for and working with all kinds of animals. This passion was shared with her two dogs, Rebel and Shelley, two cats, Moe and Simba and her bird, Jasper. Cora also enjoyed virtually anything related to the great outdoors. Cora was known to her many friends as loving, caring, and deeply loyal. She would treat a stranger as someone she had known for years and was always willing to help those in need. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. We are very thankful and fortunate for the love Cora shared with so many of us. Loved forever and never forgotten.
A funeral service is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with visitation from 4:00 until the time of service, on January 27 at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Cora’s life. Flowers may be sent directly to Indiana Funeral Care or, in lieu of flowers, Cora would greatly appreciate a donation to a animal rescue of your choice.
