Connee Lynn Coleman, 70, passed peacefully with her beloved husband and daughters by her side on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025. Connee was born in Lorain, Ohio, to Sebastian 'John' and Dolores 'Dee' Scrofano. She was the third eldest of their six daughters and was immensely proud of her Sicilian heritage. Connee was an accomplished ballet dancer, dancing in a company as a teenager before graduating from Lorain High School in 1973. She later attended The Ohio State University with her high school sweetheart, Mark, whom she wed in 1977 and spent 47 years of marriage by his side.
While at Ohio State, Connee took her first aerobics class, satisfying a desire to return to her love of dance. She went on to teach aerobics classes at Miami University of Ohio while Mark pursued his doctorate degree. After schooling was complete, they relocated to Indianapolis where Connee worked as an aerobics instructor at a handful of locations around the city. She spent several years teaching classes at the YMCA before settling into her permanent (and favorite) role as full time mother to her three daughters.
Connee was the epitome of a supportive mother - she kept the family calendar perfectly organized, never missed a single athletic event or performance, poured time into volunteering for school functions, and was always prepared to meet any supply needs for last minute school projects. She carried her daughters under her protective wing into adulthood when she became a grandmother of four. Connee adored her grandkids. If there was one guarantee, it was that seeing her grandkids would induce a full-faced smile, and often belly laughs, too.
Perhaps most of all, Connee loved reminiscing through storytelling. Throughout the years, she entrusted her husband and daughters with stories of her favorite memories that they now hold in their hearts to continue sharing as part of her legacy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sebastian and Dolores Scrofano (née Strong). She is survived by her husband, Mark; her daughters, Holly (Micah) Torgersen, Heather (Martelle Rogers) Coleman, and Amy (Colin) Gray; her grandchildren, Elias, Asher, Camden, and Adalyn; and her sisters Paula (John) Reeger, Sue (Jeff) Gacka, Chris (Dan) DeNicola, Kaye (Darcy) Teets, and Dina Scrofano.
Details for Connee's celebration of life will be shared with family and friends when finalized.
