Christopher James Stephens passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends Wednesday, April 27th after a long battle with cancer. He was 43 years old.
James was born August 24th, 1978 to Dennis J. Stephens and Lorraine M. (Stephens) Brown. He is preceded in death by his Grandpa Bobby Stephens and Grandpa Buel Brown. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Grandmothers Mildred and Pat, sisters Amanda Stephens and Valerie Stephens; brothers, Bradley Stephens, Josiah Davis, and Michael Davis. His nieces Kaitlynn, Stella, Evelyn, and great niece Justice; his nephews Austin, Brantley, Braxton, Eli, and Colt.
James graduated from Mooresville High School in 1997. He was a very successful store manager for Stein Mart and opened new stores along the east coast. His employees enjoyed working for him because he made everything fun.
He was an amazing cook and loved sharing his table with friends and family. He was a gifted singer and dancer and enjoyed reminiscing about his show choir days. He enjoyed all types of music but his all time favorite was Madonna. He was always the life of the party and made sure everyone around him was having a good time. He loved playing euchre and telling funny stories late into the night.
In accordance with his wishes there will not be a public memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to The Trevor Project or the American Cancer Society.
