Christopher L. Perkins

Christopher "Chris" L. Perkins, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away June 20, 2024 from a long battle with diabetes. He was born October 4, 1953 in Hammond, IN. He was a proud resident of Hammond. 

Chris graduated from Hammond High School in 1971, and participated in choir. Chris lived in Annapolis, MD for several years working at the Naval Academy. He moved back to Hammond in the early 2000's and worked at St. Margaret's Hospital for several years as a custodian. Chris was a dedicated sports fan of the Chicago White Sox, Da Bears and Da Bulls. He also loved listening to Jazz music and watching Law & Order. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie D. Jr. and Anna Perkins. 

Chris is survived by one sister, Vanessa Perkins on Indianapolis, IN; three brothers, Willie D. Perkins III (Veda) of Grand Prairie, TX, Eric Perkins of Hammond, IN and Mark (Raki) of Panama City, Panama; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

A special acknowledgement to Nicole Royal, Joshua Dickerson, Dametri and Kamar Ware for taking care of him while he lived in Indy. 

Chris was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
