Christopher Allen Kneuss

March 8, 1969 — July 9, 2020

Christopher Allen Kneuss, Chris to most and Goose to some, passed away peacefully in his sleep early on July 9th at St. Vincent Hospital with family at his side, ending his battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosed in March.

Chris was 51 and leaves behind the joy of his life, his daughter Jessica Kneuss, with whom he shared ballet lessons, soccer practices, movie/dinner dates and occasional ER visits after mishaps on her bike or childhood illnesses. He was a great dad!

His grandparents Marge Gast, Marty Gast, Rufus and Clara Kneuss and Uncle Mark Gast are part of his heavenly welcoming committee. Also left behind are his mother, Nancy Holle; father, David Kneuss; sister, Marjorie "Jori" Goodwin (Matt); nephews, Daniel, Brandon and Wyatt, grandfather, John Gast and many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.

Chris was born in Celina, Ohio and lived in Indianapolis since 1971. He attended 10 Little Indians, St. Thomas, IPS and Washington Twp. Elementary schools and North Central HS. His mom knew he was mechanically inclined when he began "repairing" bikes and mowers at age 12. Most of his life's work involved various aspects of construction and building maintenance. He also loved cars, auto racing, country music, German Shepherds, fishing and YouTube! and his friends knew if they needed help with life events, building projects, installing appliances, car repairs or moving - Chris would be there! His final project had him tearing the bathroom at Mom's house down to the studs. New materials and fixtures were ready to make his bathroom great again, when he was diagnosed after breaking two ribs pulling nails with a claw hammer. Not funny, Karma!

Chris will be dearly missed by so many! You were Mom's rock when she had cancer. We all appreciate care, friendship, assistance, advice and education you imparted along the way. It doesn't seem fair to lose you so soon, but many of the hard knocks in your life weren't fair. You deserve to rest in peace forever and our love and fond memories of you will remain forever.

Visitation begins at noon Friday, July 17th at Indiana Funeral Care , 8151 Allisonville Rd., followed by Committal Service at Good Shepherd Chapel in Oaklawn Cemetary, 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN at 3:15 pm.
