Chonga Kim (Grace Goecke) was born on November 13, 1957, in Seoul, South Korea and passed peacefully to heaven in her sleep on March 22, 2022, in Indianapolis, Indiana after a courageous battle with cancer.
Chonga was born into family of education, art, and delicious food. Her father was a university professor, and her mother was a restaurant owner. Through personal determination and fearlessness, she immigrated to the United States as a young woman. Knowing little English, she studied the American culture and enrolled in nursing college. She married Jeffry Goecke on April 30, 1988 and changed her name to Grace Goecke.
Grace dedicated her life to building the family, running the family business and teaching her children good conservative values. Growing up, she was proud to be an American citizen and Korean immigrant. When the children were young, she discovered a new spiritual connection with her faith and the supernatural healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
Often shy, she shared the gospel of Jesus through evangelism and community connection to everyone she encountered, often at grocery stores and restaurants. Her life verse was Matthew 19:26 (KJV) “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” In addition to her faith and family, her hobbies included reading, writing and gardening.
Chonga Grace Goecke is survived by her husband Jeffry, three children, Demian, David and Danielle and granddaughter Elizabeth.
