Cherry Ann Smead, 71, passed away peacefully in her home on April 3rd, 2023. She was surrounded by the love of her children and significant other as they were all by her side.

She is survived by her faithful companion, Tom Hulsey and her adoring children Rick (Lori) Bowen, Lorra (Rich) Wyman, Amber Bowen, Marisa (Kenneth) Fairly, Mary (Martin) Balbuena and Kyle Nealis. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren-Alex, Alexandria, Abigail, Virginia, Ian, Garret, Breyden, Connor, Emma, Kaela, Nathan, Ethan, Emilie, Preston, Ozzy and Vivien as well as great grandchildren-Elijah, Audrey and James. Mom was a kind, gentle and nurturing soul who was truly all heart. First and foremost, she was a dedicated mother & grandmother. She jokingly referred to herself as the camp cook. She mastered the art of comfort food and those lucky enough to enjoy one of her dishes always cleaned their plate.
She enjoyed a vast array of hobbies. She took great pride and joy in tending to the flowers in her garden. She loved her craft projects and could crochet you a heartfelt masterpiece or work her magic with a hot glue gun.
We'll always remember her immense love of music, singing and dancing. But most of all, we'll cherish the memory of her sense of humor and infectious giggle.
Mom was proud of her Native American heritage and belonged to the Miami Nation of Indiana. A private ceremony will be held at The Seven Pillars in Peru. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 13th from 5 pm to 8 pm at Maggiano's Little Italy in the Castello & Brunello rooms. It is located at 3550 East 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46240 near Keystone Mall.
