Charlotte J. Deeter

Charlotte Deeter, 76, passed away December 23, 2023. She was born December 5, 1947  in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Wilbur and Martha Jean Bassett. Charlotte graduated from Howe High School in 1966 and married her high school sweetheart Dennis one year later.
Charlotte lived a lifetime of service.   With the late Cindi Hankins, she proudly co-founded Neo-Fight in 1976 and served to further the cause of giving new moms an outlet to share their feelings every year after its founding. 
She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Indiana University and received two graduate degrees in adult education and gerontology from Ball State University.  She had a long career serving the needs of the elderly.  
Her remains will be interred at Washington Park East Cemetery next to her beloved son Jeff, who preceded her in death in 2014. She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Dennis, her daughter Carrie (Mike) Gaffney, daughter-in-law Tess White-Deeter, grandchildren Anna, Luke, and Rachel, sisters Rosemary (Charles) Caldwell, Janet Massey, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. 
A Service of Remembrance will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 6810 E 10th St, Indianapolis, IN 46219, and visiting with the family immediately after.  In lieu of flowers, please send a card to someone you hold dear.
