Charlie Adkins

Charlie Adkins, 84, of Needham, Indiana passed away peacefully at his home on November 16, 2024, with his loving wife and daughter by his side. Charlie was born on August 6, 1940, in Somerset, Kentucky to the late William Virgil Adkins and Lena (Wells) Adkins.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, William Virgil Adkins and Lena (Wells) Adkins, as well as nine siblings.

Charlie was survived by his wife, Carol Adkins, and his daughters, Jennifer Brissy, Ivy Cambel, Vicki Jolena-Orthaus, Kara (Kevin) Huffman; his stepdaughter, Anita Burks as well as his brother, Buell Adkins and sister, Beulah Bullock; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Charlie was the successful owner of an automobile dealership for 30 years and retired in 1994. Charlie married the love of his life, Carolyn, and they were inseparable for 41 years, always living life to the fullest.

Charlie had a great love for horses and any other animal he came in contact with, especially his dog, Tyson.

Charlie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and will be sadly missed.

Services will be held at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Visitation will be held at 12:30pm with a funeral service to begin at 2pm.
