Charles W. McCash Sr., 83, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 11:40 am peacefully.
Charles was born on Saturday, February 26,1938 in Cheboygan, Michigan to Charles James McCash and Myrtle Faye McLaughlin McCash.
Charles served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1985. He did 3 tours in Vietnam and 1 in Korea. The ships he was on was Rainier,
Tracer, Horn and aircraft carriers, The Midway and Coral Sea. Charles retired in Indianapolis, Indiana Fort Benjamin Harrison in 1985 as an E9 PCCM Master Chief Petty Officer. Charles's US Navy Awards are National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal,
Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, 3 Navy Achievement Medals, Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Gallantry Cross w/palm, 5 Good Conduct Award, Vietnam Campaign Medal. Total active service 23 years 8 months and 5 days.
Charles is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Charles is survived by his sons, Mario, Charles, David, Alex; daughter, Melissa; daughter-in-law, Karen McCash, Regina McCash, Holly McCash, and Bridget McCash; grandchildren, Andres McCash, Karsten McCash, Damaris McCash, Rachel Cronin, Sarah Allred, Jared McCash, Marshal McCash, Sandra McCash, Sabrina McCash, Charles McCash III, Joshua McCash, Ashley Price, Melanie McCash, Jayden McCash, Ireland McCash, Athena McCash, Charin Nikrasch, Dominic Keith and Sylvan Keith; and 8 great grandchildren.
Charles is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Theodocia Demetro McCash; sons, Michael, Paris and Jason McCash; grandsons, William Charles and Timothy Wayne McCash.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 900 E Stop 11 Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46227.
Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am.
Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.
