Charles Henry Sutton Jr.

Charles Henry Sutton Jr. went home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2024.

He was born November 18, 1944 to Charles and Vera Sutton. He grew up in Syracuse, NY and was on the wrestling team in high school, during which he won a state champion award. Once Charlie graduated from high school in 1963, he was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam War, along with his older brother. He was stationed in Germany and was a Medical Corpsman. He was honorably discharged in 1968.

Charlie then went to college at Indiana Normal College in Indianapolis. He went on to study Health and Physical Education. He graduated from Indiana University in 1971, during that time, he heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He then met and married his beloved wife, Margaret, and together they raised their beloved children, Nathan, Sarah (Patrick) Meadors, and Thomas Sutton.

Along with his wife and children, Charlie is survived by his beloved grandson, Kaiden Brooks; his older brother, Thomas; and his four sisters, Lynda, JoAnn, Charlene, and Patty; who all loved him dearly.

He worked as a customer service representative at the IRS for many years. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, where he grew to know and love everyone. He was most a peace, especially in his final days, spending time in the Bible and praying. He would also like to sit in his chair and listen to Christian music. Charlie really enjoyed being able to come home and spend time with his family, which he was able to do this Christmas.

A memorial service will be held at Noon on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis. Friends may come and share memories of Charlie beginning at 11 a.m. until the service time.
