Cecilia Ann Wallace Griffey passed away June 5, 2020 after a lengthy illness. She was born June 19, 1946 to Cecil Wayne and Mary Jane (Moore) Wallace. At the age of 4 she contracted polio and was paralyzed from the waist down. Her parents were devoted to raising her in as normal a manner as possible, and between multiple surgeries, she attended school, took music lessons (accordion) and would play special music at church, attended summer camps and managed to participate in a multitude of activities with her classmates and friends, and was even invited to the White House. She was always involved in softball, baseball, bowling, and basketball, even though she never played, she was always there cheering you on and greatly looked forward to her weekly card games with her childhood friends. She graduated from Camden High School in 1964 and attended Fort Wayne Business College with some of her close friends. She married Dale Griffey in 1967 and on August 10,1971 they welcomed their only son, James (Jamey) William Griffey. The only thing she loved more than sports, was her family.
