Carroll "Dean" Thomas

August 16, 1956 — November 13, 2020

Here is what DEAN, not CARROLL!, would like you to know: Dean loved his children, William 'Billy' Thomas, Amy 'Amos' Walden(Scott), Hannah 'Hanni' Thomas (Daniel), and Michael 'Moe' McKay(Lone). Dean loved to go to the theater with his daughters and would often proudly say, "They are good girls." Dean loved every moment he spent laughing with and loving his grandchildren, Zebediah Dean, Taylor, Jasmine, Nathan, Nora-Boo, Nadia Rose, David (Big Dave), Ella (Ellie Mae), and Liam (Mr. Squishy). Dean's sweetheart, his bride, and the love of his life was and is his "Sweet Sandy," whom he married on June 16, 1989. They laughed, loved, and served God together for over 31 years. He would often say, "I don't need much to be happy, I just want to serve God, and be with my wife."

Dean was the Worship Leader at Full Gospel Tabernacle in Bloomington, IN for nearly 30 years. He traveled the world singing and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. So influential was his Christian Testimony that as he was entering the Promised Land, Christians around the world were singing to him over live feeds, praying for him, and sending messages of their love for him. Africa, Philippines, Canada, Norway, Switzerland, USA, and Mexico. God brought Dean from a childhood of poverty to a place where he touched the world. Dean wasn't ashamed to tell you, that it all began when he was a young man and had lost everything. God gave him dreams, where he found himself lost in the Great Tribulation. He cried out to God on the floor of his trailer, and God raised him up and placed him on a pathway to heaven. Dean would often travel as an "Armor-Bearer," for his best friend Tim McKay as they traveled with the Word of God. His hearts longing was to fulfill The Great Commission, to help lead souls to the Kingdom of God…"Little Children, Love One Another."

Once, when I was little, I heard someone crying very early in the morning. I snuck out of my room and saw that the kitchen light was on. I peeked around the corner to see Dean with his Bible opened on the table in front of him. His face was buried in his hands, tears flowing, as he read about Jesus. I walked away thinking, That must be what a Christian is."

Matthew 25:21 "His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Dean's life will be celebrated in a private visitation and service on November 17, 2020 at Full Gospel Tabernacle Bloomington, IN.
