Carolyn was a woman with many titles, Wife, Mother, Mammy, Sister, Friend, Aunt. She held each of them with love and grace. Carolyn loved selflessly and unconditionally. She and Harold were married for nearly fifty-two years. After all that time together, when Harold would say, “I love you, baby” she’d respond with “I love you more”. Her love was special, it carried a light that will continue to shine down on those who were lucky enough to receive it.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Pastor Harold G. Shelton, her sons Harold and Bryant (Sanica), Her granddaughters, Brandi (Keith) Bibb and Kay-Lee Shelton, and her great grandchildren, Matthew & Miley (Brandi). She is also survived by sisters Nancy (Tim), Linda (Thomas), and Virginia as well as brothers Richard and Leland.
The family finds comfort in her love for the Lord and knowing that she has a brand-new body that is not labored with pain. She is rejoicing with her Lord in the Kingdom of Heaven. She is dancing with her arms raised in worship singing the Gospel.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
-Matthew 11:28
