Carolyn Ethel Rinberger, born on January 28, 1944, in Astoria, Oregon, passed away peacefully at home on January 11, 2025, at the age of 80. Carolyn's life's journey began in Lafayette, Indiana, where she spent her formative years before graduating from Jefferson High School in 1963.

After high school, Carolyn pursued her passion for helping others by attending St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, where she earned her credentials as a surgical technician in 1970. She dedicated much of her career to the Veterans Administration, initially working in Indianapolis and then transferring to the Tampa, Florida office after her marriage in 1976 to Jackie Lee Rinberger Sr. Following ten years in Tampa, Carolyn returned to her roots, completing her nursing education and earning her nursing degree in 1995. She finished out her remarkable career back in Indianapolis, making significant contributions to the healthcare field.

Carolyn is remembered for her kindness and caring nature, characteristics that shone brightly in both her personal and professional life. She took great joy in her family, cherishing every moment spent with her seven beloved grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Carolyn had a deep affection for the outdoors, enjoying activities such as camping, fishing, and golfing, which she loved to share with her family.

She leaves behind her daughter, Jamie (Marsh) Hamm, and her stepson, Jackie Lee Rinberger Jr., along with her stepdaughter, Beverly (Rinberger) Meyers. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, DeVere Schafer, her mother, Helen Harlan, and her son, Steven W. Marsh.

Carolyn Rinberger’s legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to both her family and her profession will forever be remembered by all who knew her. She touched countless lives in her gracious and unyielding manner, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she held dear.
