Carolyn Sue Noah

Carolyn Sue (Mayes) Noah, 77, Indianapolis, passed away on July 15, 2024, at her home with her family at her side in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on September 5, 1946, in Owensboro, KY, to the late J.W. Mayes and JoeNell (Maxberry) Mayes. On April 30, 1964, she married her husband, Donald Noah and together they spent over 60 years by each other’s sides; raising their family and watching their children and then grandchildren grow. 

Carolyn will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend, who had many joys in life. She loved to sew and worked for several years as a seamstress for Motionwear, LLC. Carolyn was a women of faith who loved the Lord and taught verses to the children growing up. She also loved hummingbirds and could often be found tending to her flowers in the warmer months. Her greatest joy in life, however, was the time she spent with her family, who will all miss her very much 

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Donald Noah; son, Jay Noah; son, Kenneth Noah; daughter, Donnia Noah; son, Richard Noah; son, Jason Noah; sister, Mary Mayes Hayes; brother, Benny Mayes; 13 grandchildren; as well as 27 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. Mayes and JoeNell Mayes; brother, Joe Mayes; brother, Ronald Mayes; and brother, Paul Coolman. 

Friends and family are welcome to gather for a funeral service in celebration of Carolyn’s life on Monday, July 22, 2024, from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250. Funeral service to follow visitation at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Carolyn will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
