Carolyn Frances Tucker was born in Thompkinsville, Kentucky on June 14, 1927 to Walter and Myrtle Moody. She was the second born child and preceded in death by her two sisters, Joyce and Elizabeth.
Her formative years were spent in Glasgow, Kentucky. The family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1942 where she attended Crispus Attucks High School. A devoted wife and mother, she married Able John Tucker on August 12, 1947 and they raised 6 children.
As young woman, Carolyn worked at the Army Finance Center for several years. She also worked at William H Blocks Department Store in the finance department and retired from a company location inside the Pyramids.
On July 4, 1975, she dedicated her life in service of Jehovah God. After she retired, Carolyn began the full-time ministry at the College Park Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and continued to serve faithfully with the Springmill Congregation until she fell asleep in death.
Carolyn enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. One of her favorite and most requested dishes was her peach cobbler. She was also very meticulous about having a clean environment, which she instilled in her children. She enjoyed traveling, specifically going on cruises. She also enjoyed dancing with family and friends. Carolyn’s foremost joy was being in ministry, teaching people about the hope she learned from her study of the Bible. She assisted several people to dedicate their lives in serving Jehovah just as she did.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Able John Tucker, and two children, Steven and Anita. Through her study of the Bible and firm hope in the earthly resurrection, she was able to cope with their untimely deaths and it brought comfort during times of grief.
She is survived by her children: Ronald (Pam), Brenda (Lee), Jerry (Angie), and Tamara (Tony). She was a proud grandmother to Karmen, Devin (Sarah), Jazmin (Donald), Jerry Kellen, Steven, Bianca (John) and Brittany. She also had 18 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
