Carolyn J. Alderson

Carolyn Jeanne Alderson (Campbell) passed away peacefully on February 19, 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 83.

Carolyn, the eldest of 4 children, was born in Indianapolis on September 13, 1939 to Clarence and Mary Campbell. At the age of 15, while attending Pike High School in Indianapolis, Carolyn met her future husband, Gene Alderson.

Carolyn will be remembered for her multifaceted and colorful personality. She was a great partner, mother, and grandmother who loved and cared for her family. She loved the beauty of nature, books & films, and a great cup of coffee. She also had a love for rock music, all things crafty (seriously, there wasn’t a craft she hadn’t mastered!) a sharp wit, and wonderfully sarcastic sense of humor that made her fun to be with and kept her family and friends laughing.

Carolyn is survived by her partner Gene Alderson, her children Michael (Wingyee) Alderson, Joni (Rick) Gibbs, Steve (Terri) Alderson, and Mark (Kimberly) Alderson, and her 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, her sister, Norma Jean Campbell and her brother, David Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Campbell and Mary Campbell (Steinbrook), her sisters Nancy Campbell, and Kimberly Medley, her daughter Dawn Gill (Alderson), and son Jeffrey Alderson.
