Caroline Sue Dahlager

April 6, 1939 — July 21, 2024

Noblesville

Caroline Sue Dahlager passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the age of 85, at her home in Noblesville, Indiana, on July 21, 2024.

Caroline was born on April 6, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert L. and Josephine Cantrell. She grew up on her father‘s hobby farm in Northville, Michigan. During high school, while using the pay phone at the Rexall drugstore, she cast a spell on a boyish Rodney A. Dahlager. Their courtship eventually led to their wedding, on December 14, 1957. Over the next few years, they built a house and they started their family. They had three children - Brad, Melanae (Clark) and Kirsten (Martindale). After a series of job changes and moves across southern Michigan, Caroline and Rod settled in Chippewa Falls, a shoe and beer factory town in northern Wisconsin, where they spent the next 43 years together. In 2016, to be closer to family, they moved to Noblesville.

Caroline loved to bake, garden, hook rugs and travel with her husband. She took pleasure in delivering cookies to shut-ins, delighted in welcoming new neighbors with fresh flowers and felt honored to gift her handmade rugs to family members.

Caroline is survived by her husband of 67 years, her three children, her 12 grandchildren, her 21 great grandchildren and a multitude of friends.

More than anything else about her, Caroline would have wanted you to know that she was a faithful Christian, who was saved by the redeeming blood of Christ and whose walk with God, even as you read this, continues.
