Carol Marline (Kuck) Moss
January 9, 1932 – October 30, 2023
Carol M. Moss passed away at her oldest son’s home in Kokomo, Indiana on Monday, October 30, 2023.
Carol was born on January 9th, 1932, at The Eschmeyer Farm in New Knoxville, Ohio to Herman Henry and Hattie Lucinda (Stieneker) Kuck. She was the 2nd of three sisters. Her younger sister, Shirley Huckeriede currently resides in St. Mary’s, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her older sister Verna Glick, and 2 half-brothers Griffith and Leaonard who died prior to her birth.
Carol began life on a farm without electricity, before moving to the city at age 13, after her father died. At 16 she met the love of her life, James Burke Moss while on a double date. After high school she went to cosmetology school and at the age of 20 married Jim. At that time the legal age for marriage was 21, so their parents had to sign to give them permission. Between 1953 and 1964 they were blessed with 6 children. While raising a big family, often she needed to take a job to make ends meet. She was a waitress, baker, factory worker, office worker, housekeeper, and care giver/ nurturer to her grandchildren as well as many other children. In later years she volunteered as a reading Tutor with Oasis Intergenerational Tutoring. In the early 2000’s she and Jim became members of the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church. She served for many years as a Deacon and enjoyed being part of a small group for the past 16 years. She cherished their time together and enjoyed planning for the gatherings by purchasing small gifts and decorations.
Carol made friends wherever she was with her infectious smile and heartwarming laugh. She genuinely cared for and loved those close to her. She was very proud of her long and loving marriage of 72 years (75 years together) and all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her 6 children, Robert (Karen), Steven (Beverly), Rebecca, Kathy (Greg), Donald (Laura), Mark (Lynda); 11 Grandchildren, Nick, Tiffani, Adam, Eric, Michael, Jessica, Jeffrey, Paul, Ashley, Daniel, and Elisabeth as well as 13 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded by her 2 half-brother, Parents, Father and Mother-in-Law, Sister Verna, son in-law Larry Muller and 3 months ago, her childhood sweetheart/husband Jim Moss.
