Carol Louise Engleman Erler

Carol Louise Engleman Erler, age 96, has left this world for the peaceful eternity of Heaven. Carol was born on January 2, 1929, to Ernest and Elnora Engleman in Indianapolis, IN. She graduated in 1947, from Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis. Carol married Donald Erler, the love of her life, on August 26, 1950, and was widowed in 1970.

Carol loved dancing, travel, beaches, ice cream, her family and any social gathering with friends (such as golf) but most of all, she loved Jesus. Carol was a member and volunteer at East 91st Street Christian Church. Her retirement years were focused on serving and caring for others, especially those who has suffered a loss. 

Carol loved to dance and spent several years with the Continettes (Continental Dance Club), a revue dance service group, where she performed at events and nursing homes. Their weekly rehearsals provided friendships that she valued dearly. Besides her family, dancing was her great passion. Carol worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation, achieving the position of Appraisal Section Manager following a career as an Associate Broker, at Century 21 Real Estate. She was very proud of her career and, rightfully, the success she achieved. 

She is survived by her children, Cindy (Michael Melvin) Erler, Don (Marian) Erler, and Denise (Richard) Trump; grandchildren, Kelsey (Pranks Paul) Melvin, Claire (Scott) Rick, Renee Erler, Matthew (Nyla) Erler, Margaret Erler, and Emma Trump; and great grandchildren, Shawn Margaret Erler, Adam Jackson, Jesse Rick and Leah Rick. 

She was a charter resident of The Barrington Carmel, since 2013. Her family would like to thank the skilled nursing staff for the loving care shown to her. Thank you for being present and kind. We are grateful.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis.
