Carlton Godfrey Arthur of Carmel, IN, passed away on August 4, 2024, at the age of 84. He was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on July 19, 1940, to parents, Phillip and Theodora (O’Brian) Arthur. Carlton married Clinitha (Wallace) in 1965 and lived in Trinidad until relocating his family to Boston, Massachuesseutts in 1970. He was an Electrician for Boston Edison for over 30 years. Carlton and his family were parishioners at St. Matthew Church in Boston, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Carlton will be remembered for his dignity, grace, bright smile, and gentle demeanor. He loved reading, music and walking. He enjoyed watching sports including soccer, football, cricket, basketball. Dad liked dog and horse racing, and attending casinos. He also loved playing chess and checkers.
He is survived by children, Troy (Debra) Arthur, Clinette Arthur; grandchildren, Clinton, Clounitte, Brianna, Gabrielle, and Maya; great-grandchildren, Joey, Ariel, and Jaaziel; siblings, Joan Andrews, Ora Arthur, Ruby Mitchell, Easlyn Bailey, Michael Arthur, and Evelyn Arthur.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Arthur.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., August 14, 2024, at St. Monica Catholic Church (6131 N. Michigan Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46228). A Funeral Service will be held directly following visitation at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Burial will follow funeral service at Washington Park North Cemetery.
