Carla Jean Burge-Shields

Carla Burge-Shields of Indianapolis, 63, went home to her Savior on January 17, 2020. Carla was born and raised in Beech Grove, Indiana and lived most of her life in Indianapolis. Carla was born to William and Carole Kelly. Carla attended the University of Indianapolis and held many exciting vocations such as working for Senator Richard Lugar, A.J. Foyt, the State of Indiana and the Perry Township Trustee’s Office. Carla enjoyed traveling, photography, and spending quality time with her grandchildren, family, and friends.

Carla is survived by her mother, Carole Kelly, husband, Steve Shields, father of her children William Burge, son Paul Burge (Anne), daughter Kelly Brackin (Lawrence), sisters Lori Barnett (Denny) and Brenda Blanchard (Chris), multiple nieces and nephews and seven grandchildren. Carla is preceded in death by her father, William Kelly.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, 2433 East Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
