Carillon Cargill Moak grew up in Minneapolis, MN, where she learned to sail on her beloved Lake Minnetonka. She attended Mills College and graduated as an English major from the University of Minnesota Phi Beta Kappa. She earned a Masters in Education at Butler University.
Mom worked as a teacher in the Indianapolis public schools. She was a brilliant homemaker: an inventive and enthusiastic cook whose food tasted better than almost anyone's; a world-class knitter who won blue ribbons at the Indiana State Fair; an enthusiastic gardener and one-time president of the Indianapolis Garden Club; and am inventive decorator of their beautiful, colorful home in Royal Pines. She volunteered actively in the community: for the Children's Bureau, the Indianapolis Art Museum, the Indianapolis Symphony, and Second Presbyterian Church. She loved to laugh. She loved dogs, especially standard poodles. She loved musicals.
She is survived by her three daughters Mary, Sarah, and Ann; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
