Brian Keith Cote passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024 in Indianapolis, IN. Born to Virgil and Judith (Anderson) Cote on June 12, 1961 in Kankakee, Illinois, Brian was the eldest of three children and had a very large extended family.
Brian grew up playing with his siblings and cousins. A little mischievous at times, Brian used ordinary situations as opportunities for adventure and fun. Brian graduated from Kankakee Eastridge High School, class of 1979. In his youth, Brian played football, baseball, and tennis, and enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on cars with his dad. As an adult, Brian played in several softball leagues and even helped coach his daughters basketball team. Brian moved to Houston, Texas in 1990 where he started a successful home repair and remodeling business. He loved music, specifically classic rock and Motown songs. He was an exceptional dancer, like his parents. His dance repertoire included a classic shuffle and his signature shoulder roll.
Brian was a friend to all that knew him. He spread his laughter and joy wherever he went with his wonderful sense of humor. Brian loved to be around his family and friends. He moved to Indianapolis to be with family in December 2023.
Brian loved with his whole heart and will be greatly missed.
Brian was the proud father of six children, Kristin (Jonathan) Daily Cote of Indianapolis, IN, Elyse Cote of Houston, Texas, Sarah Cote of Indianapolis, IN, Caitlin Cote of San Antonio, TX, Zachery (Madeline Jean) Cote of New Braunfels, Texas, Madeline (Hunter) Bailey Cote of New Braunfels, Texas; four grandchildren with one on the way; one brother, Bruce (Erica Kucera) Cote of Seabrook, Texas; one sister, Brenda Cote LaBatt of Phoenix, AZ; three nephews and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Judy (Anderson) Cote; grandparents, Harold and Florence (Case) Cote of St. Anne, IL and Leland and Ruth (Drazy) Anderson of Kankakee, IL.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
