Brandon Lee Connor

May 24, 1982 — December 26, 2019

Our handsome Brandon Lee Connor, 37, of Indianapolis, passed away in his sleep the early hours of December 26, 2019. He was born May 24, 1982, the son of David Connor and Jonell (Cartwright) Wethington.

Brandon grew up a little bit country and a little bit beach boy…hence the 1980’s sun-bleached highlights and rat tail haircut! As an ornery youngster, Brandon helped raise beef cows on a small farm in Lebanon, Indiana, but he also had the pleasure of sharing beach time on the coast of Long Beach, California. Whether in the Midwest or on the West Coast, Brandon spent much of his time enjoying the outdoors especially on the golf course.

Brandon graduated from Lebanon High School in 2000. His passion for golf afforded him the opportunity to play in college for the University of Southern Indiana. After graduating, our natural born salesman worked his magic and joked that he could “sell a cow a hamburger and ask it if it wanted a milkshake to chase it down with!”

When Brandon wasn’t busy charming someone, you might have found him golfing with his dad, cooking with his mom, attending a Colts or Reds game with Maddox, or cuddling princess Kiley. Brandon made lots of memories with friends and family…and his big family made for lots of built-in besties and unending adventures! His exuberant personality, beautiful smile, big heart, contagious laugh, and mischievous ways will be sorely missed.

May we all find comfort in Psalm 34:18, “the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” May we all honor Brandon by meditating on this truth, “the salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is their stronghold in time of trouble” Psalm 37:39.

Brandon is survived by his parents David and Jonell (who we really know as Pebbles); stepmom Robin Connor; stepson Maddox (Mad Dog) Cytrynowicz; daughter Kiley Connor; mother of his children Megan Cytrynowicz; stepsister Jennifer Williamson; maternal grandparents Jim & Jerri Cartwright; aunts and uncles- Liz & Tom Essex, Jan Rodewald, Christine Connor, Bob & Cindy Connor, Jeff & Juli Cartwright, Jeff & Jina Lancaster and Matt & Jamie Thompson; as well as numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his stepdad Timothy Wethington and his paternal grandparents James & Betty Connor.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the American Legion 8725 E. 38th Street Indianapolis, IN 46226 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a GoFundMe College Fund for Maddox and Kiley at https://www.gofundme.com/f/maddox-and-kylie-college-fund?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1&fbclid=IwAR2ctxIEHDQiSpjJ45luv5Pkg-va1ON0n3tf9UXte-Pe0wdokl6DTwSoWd0
