Bonnie was born in Chillicothe Ohio on January 19, 1941, the youngest of 5 children of Leon and Elnora Winget. Her sisters Kathryn Winget, Barbara Winget, Joanna Hoskins, and brother Dr. Leon Winget preceded her in death. Growing up on a dairy farm she worked some on the farm but delighted in books. Mystery books were her escape to another world. After high school she attended Ohio State and became a veterinarian tech, staying at the University and working in their lab.
There she met her first husband Dr. Charles Maret a veterinarian. They moved to Indianapolis and soon started Crestview Animal hospital, where she worked as a vet tech. After leaving him, she met Jerry Bennett at Gallahue after they both went thru emotional trauma. Soon they were a couple and married. Bonnie went back to school at IUPUI to become a medical records administrator. While in school they were blessed with a daughter Amy Kathryn. Bonnie graduated and went to work at St Francis Hospital working at first as a coder and then as an administrator in the Medical Records department. She also worked part time doing coding review for several hospitals. After many years at St Francis, she went to Methodist where she stayed until she retired.
Bonnie kept her lust for reading her entire life amassing hundreds of books she had read, some more than once. Her other passion was animals, weather it be dogs, cats, horses, or birds. There was always at least one Boxer in the house if not more. The cats were too numerous to count, and she always had many bird feeders and houses.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Jerry Bennett, daughter Amy Bennett, mother of Moira and Elspeth with Adam McCrory, and Amy’s partner Mike stroud.
