Beverly "Ruth" Foster

Beverly “Ruth” Foster, 83, passed away on January 17, 2025, at Franciscan Hospital, Mooresville, IN surrounded by her loving family.

Ruth was born on February 11, 1941, to Edward and Mary Bowles. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. 

She is survived by her children, Tom Woodyard of Indianapolis, Connie (Jim) Payton of Mooresville, Anita Woodyard of Indianapolis, Lisa Thacker of Shelbyville and Ricki Hardcastle of Franklin. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Angela, Thomas and Tony Woodyard, Shaun (Ashley) Woodyard, Marcus Padgett, Alyssa Booth, Kiersten Bryant, and Austin Hardcastle, Justin Hardcastle, Zach Hardcastle, as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Ruth is preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Woodyard as well as her second husband, Robert Foster; her children, Beverly Kay Woodyard, Randy Woodyard, Danny Woodyard, Steve Foster, Barry Foster, and Vince Foster; her parents, Edward, and Mary Bowles; as well as her seven siblings.

Ruth went to high school at Wood High School in Indianapolis. Throughout Ruths life she was a homemaker and enjoyed spending most of her time with family and friends. Ruth also enjoyed spending time outdoors playing softball, camping, and boating. Ruth attended Harvest House International Church and loved going. She went to all the events she could. 

Ruth was a pillar of strength and wisdom to all who knew her. Her legacy will live on through the memories we share, the values she instilled in us, and the love she gave. We take solace in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.

Friends and family are invited to join us in remembering and honoring this remarkable woman.

Visitation is Saturday, January 25, 2025, 10:30 am until 1:30 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel.

Funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm.

Burial to immediately follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis.
