Betty Jean Cherry

Betty Jean Cherry of Indianapolis passed into eternal rest at her home surrounded by family on July 30, 2021 she was 84.
Born April 4, 1937 in Frankfort Kentucky she was the daughter of Willie and Lawrence Forshee. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years James M Cherry and son James T Cherry.
Betty retired not once but twice from Lockfield Village nursing home. She loved her job and her residents. She would spend her paychecks making sure the residents had things they needed or wanted.
Betty had a passion for a good snack cake and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and always got more answers right than we did. She loved her family and was the most giving woman to all she knew.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory Shirley Grace, Peggy Schmidt, Donald (Anne) Cherry, Lisa Zigler, Kevin (Leetha) Cherry, Scott (Kassi) Cherry, Jamie (Shane)Reno, Jessica (Billy) Sullivan, Roger(Ellen) Ford, Erik Biggers. And many special grand, great, great-great grandchildren and family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11 AM to 2 PM at Indiana Funeral Care Greenwood Chapel, 2433 E Main Street, Funeral service will begin at 1:30
