Bessie Mae Sims

May 6, 1937 — November 7, 2023

Fishers

Miss Bessie Mae Hall 86 passed away on November 7,2023 at Allisonville Meadows in Fishers, In. She was born and raised in Indianapolis Indiana on May 6,1937 to Margaret Louise Hall, mother. She was an only child. Her mother later married Cleo T. Gaines. She went to grade school # 87 on the west side, and she graduated from Shortridge High School.

Bessie gave birth to Thomas W. Ellis, her only child.

She worked at RCA on the production line. She worked her way up to group leader, and had many friends, she just had that personality, and smile that would light up the world. While in her years working at RCA, she met a young man who also worked there, his name was William H. Sims, a material handler.

They were married Dec 27, 1967 to April 6, 2010, of his passing. He took mom and me under his wing. You couldn’t ask for a better husband and father. It’s funny if you look at it, mom feared animals, but he taught us how to hunt, fish, watch sports on tv, and turned mom into a mountain woman.

She leaves behind her son, Tommy, a beautiful granddaughter Tanya A. Price, a handsome son-in-law Nakia Price, and six wonderful great-grandchildren: Nakia, Jaden, Amaya, Cameron, Kendall, and Sydney, and her best friend Miss Gladys Jackson.

She was predeceased by Cleo T. Gaines (Stepfather), Margaret L. Gaines (Mother), Thomas W. Ellis Jr. (Grandson), William H. Sims (Husband).

Safely Home

I am home in heaven, dear ones;

All's so happy, all so bright!

There's perfect joy and beauty

In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief are over,

Every restless tossing passed;

I am now at peace forever,

Safely home in heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly

Trod the Valley of the Shade?

Oh! but Jesus' love illumined

Every dark and fearful glade.

And He came Himself to meet me

On that way so hard to tread;

And with Jesus' arm to lean on,

Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,

For I love you dearly still;

Try to look beyond earth's shadows,

Pray to trust our Father's will.

There is work still waiting for you,

So you must not idle stand;

Do your work while life remaineth —

You shall rest in Jesus' land.

When that work is all completed,

He will gently call you home;

Oh, the rapture of the meeting!

Oh, the joy to see you come!
