Bernis (Bernie) Earl Hammons

Bernis (Bernie) Earl Hammons, age 92, of Greenfield, Indiana passed away on February 26^th, 2023, at his home, surrounded by family.

He was born on November 18th, 1930, in Leck, Virginia. He was the son of Ballard and Delsie (Stallard) Hammons. He graduated from Ervington High School in Nora, Virginia. He married Yvonne Rae Gibson on October 30^th, 1954. He was an army veteran of the Korean war and served from 1951 to 1953. He was the owner of Hammons Equipment Co., Inc located in Greenfield, IN.

He is survived by his children, Katherine D. Bechtel, Regina Y. Brock, Randall E. Hammons and Sheila D. Hammons, and two brothers, Bobby and Norman Hammons, as well as 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister Blanche Patton and his brother Carl Hammons.

Visitation will be at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road in Indianapolis, Indiana. The visitation for Bernis will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm on Saturday March 4, 2023, with burial to follow in St. Paul, Virginia next to his loving wife.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Suburban Hospice, Inc located in Greenfield, IN.
