Beatrice J Lumpkins

August 5, 1938 — December 24, 2020

Beatrice “Jean” Lumpkins was born on August 5, 1938 in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late Simon Henry and Fanny Bell Wilcox. Jean was the youngest daughter of six siblings, all of whom preceded her in death.

At an early age Jean and her family relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana where she attended and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. Shortly after graduating she married and from that marriage had eight beautiful children.

Jean was a hard worker. She had many occupations and eventually retired from General Motors. During her lifetime she has also owned several small businesses.

Jean was a very kind, generous and loving mother. She loved spending time with her friends and family. She was such a beautiful person both inside and out. She also enjoyed shopping, cooking, sewing, music and dancing. Her favorite songs were, ‘Touch Me Lord Jesus’, ‘I Have A Friend Above All Others’, My Mother’s Eyes (for her children) and ‘How I Got Over’.

Jean was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness in 1974. She remained a faithful servant of our Heavenly Father, Jehovah God, and of our Lord Jesus Christ until her death. She loved to read the Bible and share the word to family, friends and people she encountered during field service.

Jean departed this life on Thursday December 24, 2020 at the age of eighty-two years, four months, and nineteen days.

She was preceded in death by her father, Simon Henry Wilcox; mother, Fanny Bell Wilcox; brothers, Samuel Wilcox; Robert Erie Wilcox; William Louis Wilcox; Henry Jr. Wilcox; sister, Mary Elizabeth Prynor; sons, Victor Williams; David Williams and daughter, Demetrus Combs. She leaves to cherish her memory: sister-in-law Geraldine Wilcox (widow of Henry Jr), children; Percy Williams, Eva Watts, Paul (Vickie) Williams, Carl Willams, Sherri Satter, son-in-law Cannon Combs (widower of Demetrus) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends.
