Barbara Shipley

Barbara Shipley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great great-grandmother and friend to many passed away peacefully in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 26, 2024. She was born on May 6, 1938, in Hartford City, Indiana.

Barbara dedicated her life to the field of geriatrics nursing after graduating from the School of Practical Nursing. Her compassionate care and unwavering commitment to her patients left a lasting impact on all those she encountered.

In addition to her successful career, Barbara was known for her various hobbies and interests which included gardening, shopping, hosting holiday gatherings, and spending winters in Florida with her husband, Grady Shipley.

Barbara will be deeply missed by daughters Teri (Robert) Morgan, Kelly Cummings, Sherry (Greg) Hiatt, Dawn (Johnny) Marino; grandchildren Heather (Arnie) Gonzales, Michelle (Brad) Crawley, Barbara Whiteside, Krystel Marino, Shawna Marino. She is also survived by a great-great granddaughter; and her surviving brothers William (Pat) Eppard and Randy (Cathy) Eppard.

She is preceded in death by husband, Grady Shipley, daughter Dawn Brown, granddaughter Diane Doss and brother, Gary Eppard. 

A Viewing will be held on July 2nd, 2024, at IFC Greenwood in Greenwood from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. 

Barbara Shipley's memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
