Barbara Lavon Ewigleben was born December 23, 1929 and passed into her Heavenly Father's arms June 17, 2020 at 90 years of age.
Barbara was an employee of J.C. Penney's for 20 plus years as a phone receptionist. After retirement from Penney's, she became a receptionist for Crisis Pregnancy Center. Her quiet, serene character lent the needed sweetness for her 10 plus years as a receptionist for the East Side Crisis Pregnancy Center.
Barbara graduated from Warren Central in 1948 and soon thereafter married Don Gordon, a Warren graduate, who had just returned home from Naval service in WWII. Together, they had three children; Dennis, Debra, and Jeffry. Two of their three children predeceased Barbara as well as Don. Barbara, after some years, married Walt Ewigleben who also predeceased Barb.
Barbara is survived by her son, Dennis; granddaughters, Rachael Smith and Rebekah Fischer; and brother and sister-in-law, Allan and Nancy Litz.
Barbara was devoted to her family, loved to travel, enjoyed the outdoors, and was kind, loving, thoughtful, and enjoyed the fellowship pf St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
All will miss Barb, and we are looking forward to the time when we all will be in our loving Father's arms.
Viewing will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church located at 2525 E. 11th Street in Indianapolis, IN on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 9:00 am to 9:45 am, with a 10:00 am service to follow. Burial will take place at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery following the service.
