Arvel B. Hornback, 79, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021.
He was born on Sunday, June 21, 1942 to the late William Wallace and Viola Beatrice (Burch) Hornback in Georgetown, Indiana.
Arvel was a teacher for 29 years, and retired from Keystone Middle School in Perry Township where he taught 8th grade Social Studies. After retiring, he was co-founder and tour operator with 500 Tours Inc., providing educational group tours to destinations across the country. He was a member of Garfield Park Church of God and Meridian Church of God for over 25 years. He was an avid reader of fiction, newspapers and the Bible. He also enjoyed being outdoors and gardening.
Arvel is survived by his wife, Ingrid A. (Bailey) Hornback; daughters, Sherri Nield, Lisa Beaman and her husband Todd; stepson, Jim Wooten Jr; grandchildren, Frank Beaman, Tyler Nield, Aubrey Beaman, Angelica Nield, Grace Beaman, and Alicea Davis; brother, Oran Hornback and his wife Sally; sister, Glada Dearborn and her husband Bob; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Meridian Church of God, 7800 S. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN, 46217.
Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Mundel Christian Church, 864 Mundell Church Rd, Heltonville, IN 47436.
