Arthur Mark Jacobs, born in Detroit, Michigan to Elsie Siegel and Marvin Jacobs passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, January 19, 2021 in Indianapolis.
Art's lifelong passion was music. A valued member of the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple Orchestra and Shriners band, he was at his happiest when playing his clarinet. He loved his weekly chess games with friends and was a proud member of the First Church of Cannabis. He was also proud to be a two-tour Vietnam veteran. He was a 32° Mason and enjoyed the service of the orchestra performances for the children, the aged, and the veterans. Arthur was also proud of his family and its history which he traced back to Hungary and areas now in Slovakia [Trnava, Slovakia]. He loved crossword puzzles, his cats, his granddaughter, and reading a wide range of books.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by daughters Sophia Jacobs and Anne Martin, beloved granddaughter Pepper Martin, younger brother Larry Jacobs, nephew Marc Jacobs, and good friend Mike Larrabbee. He was loved by many and his compendious discussions, studied insights, charitable spirit, and good-natured ribbings will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago in Art's memory.
Service is at 11:00am EST on Saturday, January 23 at the First Church of Cannabis and will be live streamed on their Facebook page.
