Arlene ‘Hestand’ Timbs was born March 29, 1933. Arlene had a passion for art and loved to travel, she enjoyed visiting new places, learning new things about those areas and seeing the beauty of the world around her, she even took time to write post cards to her grandkids so she could share her stories with them in real time. She had a wonderful sense of humor; her personality was infectious and everyone who knew her loved being around her every chance they got.
Arlene graduated from Arsenal Technical High School, worked for St. Francis in Beech Grove as a Unit Secretary until she retired, after retirement she spent some time living in Punta Gorda Florida enjoying her friends and the sun before returning to Indiana. Arlene was most recently a resident of Rosegate Village before she passed away the morning of July 13, 2021 at St. Francis South in Indianapolis.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Robert C. Timbs, as well as four siblings, Patty Hestand John Hestand Junior Hestand, and David Hestand .
Arlene leaves behind her two children, Shawnee Hilligoss and Mark Timbs. Arlene was a proud “Grami” to four Grandchildren, Mike Hilligoss, Tricia LaRussa, Anna Lee and Mark R. Timbs, seven Great Grandchildren, Kevin LaRussa III, Brock LaRussa, Lindzie Lee, Michael Lee, Logan LaRussa, Claire Hilligoss and Cameron Hilligoss, and two Great-Great Grandchildren, EmmaRose LaRussa and GraceLynn LaRussa. Arlene also leaves behind two siblings, Dianna Miller and Richard Hestand.
Arlene will be laid to rest next to her Husband at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood, IN. In lieu of services, family will host a Celebration of a Life at a later date.
