Anthony J. “Tony” Santopolo, 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at his residence.
Born on Saturday, April 9, 1938 to the late Antonio and Rose (Patella) Santopolo in Danbury, Connecticut.
Tony is a veteran of the United States Air Force and the United States Navy. He attended Coaching School in Danbury and was a member of the class of 1956. Tony was active with Danbury youths having coached little league baseball and Pop Warner football. Upon his discharge from the USN he became owner-operator of the Belvedere Restaurant on Ives Street after his father retired from the business. Tony went on to work for Equitable Life Insurance where he was Executive Transportation Security. He later retired from there in 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie L. (Hause) Santopolo; son, Joseph A. Santopolo and his wife Cass of North Carolina; his grandson and granddaughter; 3 great granddaughters; 1 great grandson; step-daughters, Carla and Tina of Indianapolis, Indiana; and nieces, Dawn Bunting and family of Planteville, Connecticut; and Diane Zilinik of New Milford, Connecticut.
Visitation is Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care Greenwood Chapel, 2433 East Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
Funeral service will begin at 4:00 pm
Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery in Danbury, Connecticut.
