Anne Dybiec Unger

August 29, 1973 — June 29, 2020

Anne Dybiec Unger, of Noblesville, passed peacefully from this life into the presence of her Savior on Monday, June 29, with her husband, Chris, and her parents by her side.

Anne was born on August 29, 1973, the youngest daughter of Donald J. and Dorothy E. (Barnes) Dybiec and dear sister of Maree (Dybiec) Vizino and Cathie (Dybiec) Smith. Chris and Anne were high school sweethearts who were married on April 11, 1998, and the proud parents of their children, Donna Christine, and Walt Franklin. After Anne completed degrees and certifications through Miami University and Anderson University, Anne served as a teacher at Durbin and Sand Creek Elementary Schools. When her own children reached school age, Anne found great joy in bringing her passion for learning to her role as a homeschool mom and to teach at several homeschooling co-ops, most recently at The Master’s Study.

As a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend, Anne showed us all how to truly live. Her joy was contagious, and she “brought the fun” to everything from birthday parties to history lessons. She taught us to welcome everyone, listen well, care deeply, and love not only with words but in action and in truth. She taught us to look for the blessings that are always there, even in the midst of struggle, and to dwell on things that are true and lovely. We are going to miss Anne, but we will see bits of her in everyone who has known her for the rest of our lives. We are different because she lived.

In her last days Anne expressed over and over her love for her family and friends, her gratitude for the life she had been given, and her confidence in the joy that awaited her in the arms of Jesus. During her final days, Anne found great comfort in the words of Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Anne’s faith and courage and strength will continue to inspire and bless all those who knew her.

Anne is survived by her husband, Chris, and her children, Donna and Walt; her parents, sisters, and brothers-in-law, many cousins and nieces and nephews, and a very large family that became her own when she married Chris.

A Celebration of Life will be held at College Park Church (2606 West 96th Street; Indianapolis, IN 46268) on Wednesday, July 8 at 3:30 pm. Safety protocols will be in place and masks will be required. For those who prefer, the service will be live-streamed for remote viewing. It was important to Anne that the service is not formal, but that everyone should be comfortable. Business casual attire will be appropriate.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions can be made to The Master’s Study; PO Box 415; Zionsville, IN 46077.
