Alan Blum, born on January 21, 1950, in Tell City, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, at the age of 74 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Raised in a family with a strong work ethic, Alan found his calling in the lumber industry, following in the footsteps of his father, Frank Blum. He was a friend to many and left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Alan's career did not stop at the lumber industry. He dedicated his later years to serving at the Branchville Correctional Facility, from which he ultimately retired. His commitment to his work was second only to his love for his family and community. Alan's generosity and stubborn dedication to those he loved were hallmarks of his personality, cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Alan was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Frank and Helen Blum; his brothers, Joe and Paul Blum. He leaves behind a legacy through his cherished children: his sons, Bart and Jeremy Blum (Kristi), his daughter, Kristan (Blum) Cooper (William) and his adored grandchildren: Kipton, Addison and Elise. His family will remember him as a guiding force, always standing firm in his beliefs and supporting them with unwavering love.
Per Alan's wishes, private family services will be held. In this time of remembrance, Alan's family invites those who knew him to reflect on the richness of life he led and the friendships he nurtured. May his spirit find peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
